  • Can I Have a Hug
    Jul 20 2025

Growing up, my mother said things to me that no child should really ever hear. She battled severe mental health issues that went undiagnosed for years, and to this day, may still not be fully understood. While we have worked hard to be "ok" as I've gotten older, I would be lying if I said that there weren't still wounds from her words while I was a child. This episode will start to dive into some of those experiences, how they molded me as I moved into life as a teen and young adult and how I continue to reflect and take back my power as I enter middle-age. I know that many will sadly identify with this episode and I hope that you will take away from it that you can still be, for yourself, what you needed and didn't receive when you were younger.

This episode comes with a trigger warning of verbal and physical abuse of a child.

And if you know my mother, be kind. This is not meant as an attack on her, as I will never know what she was really going through, but instead it's about my journey to understand and move forward.
