About this listen

One of the first things that come to mind when you think about pregnancy and being a new mother, is sleep deprivation. You think about mother's up all night uncomfortable, needing to pee all the time and not quite getting the much needed shut eye. This week we are joined by Dr. Clare Ladyman who researches sleep during the perinatal period, and has written the book Sleeping Better in Pregnancy. Clare Ladyman completed her research studies at the Sleep/Wake Research Centre, Massey University, Wellington, and now lives in Perth, Western Australia. Clare shares an honest take on what pregnancy and motherhood entails and some tips and tricks to sleeping well during pregnancy and prioritising one of the major health pillars.
