About this listen
When Gabe Westheimer first began as an emergency Nurse Practitioner 10 years ago, his role was quite a bit different. Back then one or two NPs plus a physician would take care of about 18 beds. Now, he's looking after double or triple the number of patients, plus managing patients in the waiting room.
It's a different world now in emergency medicine, but what can we as NPs and PAs do about it? And how can we avoid burnout from this situation?
About Our Guest
Gabe Westheimer is an emergency trained nurse practitioner who works at SFGH, San Francisco's premiere Level 1 trauma center and county Emergency Department.
Emergency Medicine NP & PA Workforce is hosted by Omar Nava, presented by Ivy Clinicians, and produced by Earfluence.
