In der Konzentrationsphase vor dem Stoß „durfte ich Gottes Gegenwart spüren in diesem Stadion“, sagt sie im Gespräch mit Christopher Hoffmann. Bei den Sportkommentator*innen gilt sie als die fröhlichste Athletin der Spiele, in Pressekonferenzen gibt sie spontan mal einen Gospel zum Besten. „Weil ich einfach verstanden habe: Da gibt es einen Gott, der mich bedingungslos liebt.“
