I absolutely love how raw, open, relateable and vulnerable Chrissy was in this episode. She voiced out how we condition ourselves (especially us girls) from a young age to want to be worthy, to feel validated; thus, we end up becoming people-pleasers and "punish" ourselves relentlessly over how people perceive us. It's sad to see how common and relateable this is. I've definitely lived all my teenage years and my 20s (now in my early 30s) being a "prisoner" of my own negative and self-disparaging thoughts. But I've since broken the pattern - thanks to my friends and self-development gurus like Mel Robbins. I'm so glad Mel was the first guest on the new pod. Mel's 'let them' theory is life-changing. I've listened to the book on Audiobooks and recommended to many friends. The 'let them' tool is so quintessential to help us get past the urge to control others and, in turn, be the best version of ourselves. Thank you, Mel and Chrissy for this amazing, insightful and practical episode! :)
