 Incredible as it sounds, this story is set in the early 1900s. Or rather, to be precise, it began in 1885, the birth year of engineer and inventor Luigi Gussalli, a pioneer first in the field of automobiles, then from the 1920s onward a true forerunner of Italian astronautics, on par with Oberth in Germany and Goddard in America.
