Als klein jongetje groeide Lucien op in de straten rond den Asiat. Bommetjes werpen, zwemmen in de Zenne, voetballen vanachter in de Hellestraat. Toen er na de oorlog nauwelijks werk te vinden was, kwam hij hier terecht. Draaien, frezen, vijlen, hij kon alles met metaal. Hij werkte nu eenmaal graag met zijn handen. Hoe zag het leven er in de jaren '30 uit in de Vilvoordse straten? En tijdens de oorlog?
