• The Dynamics of Giving and Receiving with Betty Martin
    Apr 6 2026
The Missing Piece in Your Intimate Life? The Dynamics of Giving and Receiving with Betty Martin - new podcast episode out nowWhat if the missing piece in your intimate life isn't about desire or technique - but about truly knowing what you want, and feeling safe enough to say so?In this episode, Sarah Rose Bright is joined by Betty Martin, creator of the Wheel of Consent — one of the most transformative practices in the field of conscious touch, intimacy, and relating. Simple in its structure and profound in its impact, the Wheel has quietly revolutionised how thousands of people understand the dynamics of giving, receiving, taking, and allowing. This is one of Sarah's favourite practices - both personally and in her work with clients. She has seen again and again how it transforms people's experience of touch, pleasure, and genuine connection. And this conversation is a beautiful introduction to why.Betty shares the story behind the Wheel of Consent and unpacks the subtle — and often hidden — dynamics that shape every experience of touch and intimacy. How we give. How we receive. How rarely we are truly asked what we want. And how transformative it can be when we finally are.Sarah didn't get to half her questions — so watch this space for round two.In this conversation we explore:- The two core questions at the heart of the Wheel of Consent- Why knowing what you want is a skill — and why so many of us were never taught it- Why asking for what you want can feel so vulnerable- How setting clear limits actually creates more generosity and enjoyment- The discomfort so many people feel around receiving — and where it comes from- How slowing down helps you feel what is actually true for you- How exploring what you don't want can clarify what you do- Why the ability to say no builds trust, safety, and deeper connection- How many people have never truly been asked what they want- How transformative it can be to choose — consciously and freely — how you are touchedDr. Betty Martin has had her hands on people professionally for over 40 years (some of it legal and some of it questionable). 30 years of Chiropractic and other modalities, then later, 15 years of Somatic Sex Education and Surrogate Partner Therapy. Also Contact Improv and other kinds of play. She is the developer of the Wheel of Consent, a cutting edge model of receiving and giving, based on touch but amenable to non-touch practices as well. She is the author of The Art of Receiving and Giving: The Wheel of Consent. She loves sharing her experience. She developed a 5 day training in the Wheel of Consent for practitioners, which took her around the world, and then trained others to teach it so she could retire. She currently mentors helping professionals, from psychotherapists to sex workers, and all stripes of hands-on practitioners.RESOURCES FROM BETTYhttps://www.wheelofconsent.orghttps://www.schoolofconsent.org/calendar/https://www.instagram.com/thewheelofconsent/Free gift https://www.wheelofconsent.org/free-chapter-sign-upRESOURCES FROM SARAH DEVOTION is a 5-month journey for women to return home to their feminine bodies, awaken their sensuality and reclaim their true power. • Slow Sex in a Fast World with Diana Richardson
    Apr 3 2026
For this first guest episode, I am joined by someone whose work I hold in the deepest respect - Diana Richardson, pioneering teacher of slow sex. For over 30 years, Diana has guided more than 15,000 couples in week-long residential retreats in Switzerland - The Making Love Retreat, which Graeme and I now teach.Diana and I explore what happens when we stop approaching sex as something to perform or achieve - and start bringing it into presence, awareness, and genuine connection. So much of what we've inherited about sex is shaped by urgency, peak experiences, and the pressure to get it right. Diana speaks about how this quietly creates insecurity and self-doubt, and what becomes possible when we simply... slow down. This isn't technique. It's a way of coming home to yourself and to each other. We talk about the difference between ‘having sex’ and 'making love’. About how small, subtle shifts create profound change - and why the most important shift is always the connection to yourself first. We also talk about modern life - parenthood, packed schedules, the challenge of staying genuinely connected when everything is pulling at you. Diana shares her beautiful "love keys” - simple, powerful tools for coming back into connection, and the role of kindness, compassion, and generosity in how we meet one another. In this conversation we explore:- Why slowing down opens awareness and deepens intimacy- How cultural conditioning shapes our approach to sex - often through performance and pressure- What becomes possible beyond peak experiences- Why so many people carry insecurity or self-doubt in their sexual experience- The difference between having sex and making love- How small, subtle shifts create profound change- Creating space - internally and relationally, for connection to unfold- Why presence matters more than quantity- Practical guidance for parents navigating intimacy within busy lives- The "love keys" as simple tools for deeper connection- How embodiment supports not just intimacy, but daily life- The power of honest, open communicationDiana has said that so many of the world's difficulties trace back to a lack of understanding about sex — how it shapes our sense of self, our emotions, our relationships. I believe that too.How we relate to love and sex ripples out into everything - our families, our communities, the world we are collectively creating. And right now, in this moment in history, this conversation feels more alive and more needed than ever.RESOURCES FROM DIANADiana Richardson is widely regarded as a leading contemporary authority on human sexuality and conscious intimacy. A bestselling author on Tantra, her work centers on the union of sex and meditation, and on practical ways this sacred connection can transform intimate life.Diana's approach is grounded in a lifelong exploration of sexuality, love, and meditative awareness. She developed Generative Sex, also known as Cool Sex, an evolutionary and sustainable approach to intimacy. This distilled wisdom is shared through her practical Love Keys, presented in her bestselling book, The Heart of Tantric Sex. For over 30 years, Diana has guided more than 15,000 couples in week-long residential retreats in Switzerland, and she is now launching a Rekindle Intimacy online course based on these highly successful retreats.Websites:rekindletantra.comhttp://www.livinglove.comRESOURCES FROM SARAHDEVOTION is a 5-month journey for women to return home to their feminine bodies, awaken their sensuality and reclaim their true power. • The Evolutionary Power of Love & Sex with Sarah Rose Bright
    Apr 3 2026

Welcome to Making Love: a podcast with me, Sarah Rose Bright.

In this episode I share what's been alive for me in this process, why this name and my vision for the podcast, and, what I believe is one of the most important and under explored conversations of our time - how love, sex, and intimacy are evolving.

Love, sex and intimacy are fundamental to life. They are forces that shape how humanity evolves. Over the past few decades, the architecture of intimate life has shifted dramatically and there are new forces shaping modern intimacy from how we date to social media and AI.

This podcast asks - what is changing and what is possible? What is breaking through as the old stories break down? What new stories are trying to emerge?

    I begin to explore:

    - Why intimacy and relationships are evolving and what is breaking down and breaking through this at moment in history

    - The significant shifts in how we meet, connect, and live over the past few decades

    - How social media, technology, and AI are reshaping intimacy

    - The transition of sex from procreation to recreation - and what lies beyond both

    - Co-creation as a new model for sexual and relational experience

    - The suppression and distortion of sexuality - and what we are reclaiming

    - Sex as a living practice of growth, healing and awakening

    - The light and beauty of what the erotic can become

    - Why these conversations matter

    Oct 24 2022

Welcome to this conversation with Janet McGeever, co-author of Tantric Sex and Menopause, a teacher of The Making Love, creator of Womantime and Psychotherapist.

Having experienced a challenging journey around sex and menopause in her 40's, her discovery of Diana Richardson's approach to sexuality flipped her despair to inspiration and hope. She began writing about sex and menopause in 2009 after experiencing The Making Love Retreat with Diana Richardson, which culminated in co-authoring with Diana in 2015. This began a journey of introspection and research to unearth these two taboo topics and it has become her mission to dispel the myths about menopausal women.

Janet shares what she learnt her body needed at menopause and how that differed from earlier years, why goal focused sex doesn’t work for many women especially at peri menopause and menopause, how to make love in relaxation (whether with a partner or own your own), how the breasts can activate sexual energy and how to awaken subtle awareness in the breasts, why it’s good to not focus on lack of desire (and what to focus on instead!), why is it so important for men to understand the affect menopause can have on the women in their lives, what men need to know about menopause and sex, how the conscious sex approach can help women with a range of issues and changes in their bodies such as pain during sex and reduced lubrication and why Kegel exercises are not the solution to prolapse and more!

    Janet shares:

    • How Janet came to write a book about tantric sex and menopause with Diana Richardson
    • What Janet learnt that her body needed at menopause and how that differed from earlier years
    • The role of hormones in your health and wellbeing
    • The importance of oxytocin
    • Why goal focused sex doesn’t work for many women especially at peri menopause and menopause
    • How to make love in relaxation (whether with a partner or own your own) and how that differs from how we learn to ‘do’ sex
    • The importance of transitions from our busy lives to presence and making love
    • How the breasts can activate sexual energy and how to awaken subtle awareness in the breasts
    • Why it’s good to not focus on lack of desire, and what to focus on instead
    • Why is it so important for men to understand the affect menopause can have on the women in their lives
    • What men need to know about menopause and sex
    • Why changes in sex at menopause is an opportunity for both partners to step beyond sexual conditioning and experiment with different and deeper ways to create pleasure - its not just about the female partner who wants changes
    • How the conscious sex approach can help women with a range of issues and changes in their bodies from lack of desire, pain during sex, reduced lubrication and the thinning of their vaginal walls
    • Healing from prolapse and why Kegel exercises are not the solution

Janet is co-author of Tantric Sex and Menopause, has taught The Making Love Retreat in Australia since 2012, and is creator of Womantime, Ancient Wisdom for the Modern Day Woman. As a Psychotherapist, she has supported couples for over 20 years in private practice to connect more deeply in their intimate relationships. Having experienced a challenging journey around sex and menopause in her 40's, her discovery of Diana Richardson's approach to sexuality flipped her despair to inspiration and hope.
