About this listen

The “Let’s Talk” podcast is a ministry of Stonegate Women and seeks to encourage, equip and inspire women in their walk with Jesus, and laugh along the way. We want to tackle subjects relevant to women and talk honestly about the tensions we face as followers of Jesus. We give practical handlebars in every episode and work to make Biblical truth intersect real life.

In season 1 of “Let’s Talk” we are featuring spiritual disciplines or “disciple practices”. We’re interviewing women from our church and talk about how to contextualize spiritual practices practically in our every day lives.

Spiritual disciplines can feel like another thing tacked onto an already packed to-do list. They can also become a ritualized checklist, heartless and not transforming. We want to avoid this mindset by thinking of the disciplines as “practices”. Everything requires practice, sports, cooking, calligraphy - all of it requires doing that thing many times over while learning and being shaped in the process. In this season we emphasize “connection” first - that all practice comes out of connection with Jesus, seeking a connection to Jesus and enjoying Him the most and then “transformation” is a by product.

We hope these episodes will encourage you to practice things that will help you connect with Jesus on a regular basis and be transformed.

  • Sabbath
    Feb 5 2025

Our age is busy, rushed, overworked and dealing with recurring burn out. Rest is a welcomed antidote but very difficult to create. In this episode Jen talks with Stephanie Snow and Caitlin Carpenter about God’s provision for our rest in commanding the Sabbath. They explore how Sabbath rest is more than an invitation to do nothing for 24 hours but rather a chance to experience satisfaction and enjoyment with Jesus. If you feel like you’re stuck on the hamster wheel of life, this will be a refreshing episode to encourage you to chose rest.

Being creative can sometimes be relegated only to those with artistic talents but creativity applies to anyone made in the image of God, the ultimate Creator. In this episode Lindsay sits with Stephanie Snow and Jessica Attaway to talk about the ways we can meet with God in an unexpected and life giving way through creativity. They discuss how the creative process mimics faith, and how at it’s heart all creativity is a use of imagination. So whether you’re a painter or finding creative ways to cook meals on a budget - this episode invites everyone to enjoy Jesus while engaging our God-given imagination and following the image of our Creator.

  • Fast Food
    Jan 1 2025

For many of us, our relationship with food can be complicated and so fasting food to pursue Jesus can get difficult. Some of us have a painful history of restriction or a recurring wrestle with idolization. In addition, fasting has become the subject of popular heath advances which can make our motives for fasting muddy. In this episode Jen and Lindsay talk with friend Lindsay Tucker about their own complicated experiences with food and learning to feast on Jesus while fasting from food. This is a great episode if you’ve never fasted before and want to learn how to start or if you’ve fasted before and need fresh encouragement to engage this powerful practice.
