Navigating the aftermath of a car accident can be overwhelming and confusing. Drawing from over 15 years of experience handling cases from $15,000 to multi-million dollar settlements, attorney Chaz Roberts delivers a masterclass on the critical steps to take immediately following a collision.

The moments after impact are crucial. Your first move should always be calling 911—even when the other driver suggests "just exchanging information." Without a police report, you're vulnerable to the other driver changing their story later, as happened with Chaz's client Mrs. Smith. Officers document statements at the scene, record insurance information, diagram the accident, and create an official record that can make or break your case later.

Documentation extends beyond police reports. Chaz emphasizes the importance of photographing the scene before vehicles are moved and seeking immediate medical attention—whether at an emergency room for serious injuries or urgent care for less severe ones. Both options establish a crucial medical record of your injuries, though many people don't realize that pain often intensifies days after the accident when adrenaline subsides.

Perhaps most importantly, Chaz warns against speaking directly with insurance companies about your injuries. When they inevitably ask if you're hurt, simply respond: "I don't feel comfortable discussing my injuries now. I'll send you medical records once we have them," or "I'm hiring a lawyer." This prevents insurers from using your own words against you later, especially since many injuries evolve in the days following an accident.

The guide also covers navigating property damage claims, understanding when a vehicle is considered totaled, pursuing diminished value claims, and ensuring you receive appropriate ongoing medical care. By following these expert recommendations, you'll protect your health, rights, and potential compensation.

  • All In or All Out: Choosing Your Path and Committing Fully
    Apr 17 2025

Have you ever found yourself stuck in the middle—not fully committed but not quite ready to walk away? Today's episode draws powerful wisdom from an unlikely source: Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid. His famous advice about walking on either side of the road but avoiding the middle (where you get "squashed like a grape") becomes a compelling metaphor for how we should approach life's commitments.

My personal journey with commitment began when I decided to run the New York Marathon without starting small. By setting an ambitious goal and eliminating all backup plans, I discovered the power of going all-in. This same philosophy guides how I parent my boys—Luke, who's passionate about football and trains intensely, and Jake, who chose recreational soccer purely for enjoyment. Both represent valid paths because they involve clear decisions rather than halfhearted middle-ground efforts.

The turning point in my legal career came when my mentor bluntly told me I was only part-time committed to being a lawyer. Those words sparked a complete transformation as I burned bridges to other career options and fully embraced my path. Now, that all-or-nothing approach defines my practice and client relationships. I'm not interested in representing people who aren't equally committed to their cases.

Where are you walking in your life right now? Are you on the left side or the right side of the road, or are you risking getting squashed in the middle? Identifying areas where you're straddling the line—whether in relationships, career aspirations, or personal health—could be the first step toward a more fulfilling path. Remember, choosing to step away completely is valid too. What matters is making a clear decision.

Ready to leave the middle ground behind? Pick one aspect of your life today where you'll commit fully, and share your journey with me at @chazrobertslaw on Instagram or cr@chazrobertslaw.com. Your commitment story might inspire others to find their path too. Subscribe and leave a review if this resonated with you!

  • From Trailer Park to Amazon Fortune: How To Make Money While You Sleep w/ Morgan Rainey
    Apr 3 2025

    Send us a text

Rethinking financial security in today's economy means exploring opportunities beyond the traditional 9-to-5. Morgan Rainey's unlikely journey from North Louisiana trailer park to successful entrepreneur offers a refreshing blueprint for anyone feeling trapped by limited options.

"I did everything in the right order, like society tells you—go to school, get a good job, you'll be happy. But I wasn't happy," Morgan explains. This revelation led her to experiment with selling items on Amazon, starting with just $0.25 books from Goodwill that she'd flip for $20. These modest beginnings, built on $7-8 profits per sale, eventually snowballed into a business generating $5 million in Amazon sales.

What makes Morgan's story particularly powerful is how accessible her methods are. Without requiring massive capital investment or specialized skills, she and her husband created multiple income streams that allowed them both to quit their jobs within two years. Their success wasn't about getting lucky—it came from consistently providing value through straightforward, authentic content that resonated with everyday people.

Morgan reveals how stay-at-home moms in her community are making $1,000-$3,000 monthly by simply reviewing Amazon products they already own. "Our average student, who does this less than 30 minutes a day, the average mom, they're usually making around $1,000 to $3,000 extra a month," she shares. This passive income strategy doesn't require fancy equipment, specialized knowledge, or even a social media following—just a phone and willingness to be authentically yourself.

Perhaps the most valuable insight Morgan offers isn't about making money, but about redefining what wealth truly means: "The money is nice, but the time freedom, the ability to never have to ask somebody for time off work, the ability to take your parents on their dream vacation, the ability to stay at home with my dogs when they're scared of thunder because I don't have to go anywhere—that, to me, is rich."

Ready to explore how you could create your own passive income streams? Visit Cajun Ventures on social media or visit parishagency.com to learn about working with Morgan's team.
