Questa versione dell’opera, pur precedente alla riapertura dei tagli effettuati al tempo del debutto a Broadway (1935), include i recitativi di Gershwin, sino ad allora non compresi in alcuna incisione; e riconosce in Porgy and Bess l’integrazione e l’equilibrio tra i diversi generi e stili.
