El 2 de abril de 2025 los clubes mexicanos Pachuca y León interponen recursos de apelación ante el tribunal de arbitraje deportivo, impugnando la resolución de la comisión de apelación de la FIFA que resolvió que ellos incumplen los criterios sobre la propiedad de varios clubes que establece el art. 10, apdo. 1 del Reglamento del Mundial de Clubes FIFA 2025™.
