El 15 de julio de 2010, Argentina no solo hizo historia al convertirse en el primer país de América Latina y el décimo en el mundo en legalizar el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo. Aquella madrugada, el país sentó un precedente que trascendió las fronteras, garantizando plenamente el derecho a la adopción y equiparando derechos y obligaciones para todas las parejas. Más que una reforma legal, fue el puntapié inicial de una revolución de derechos que visibilizó a la comunidad LGBTIQ+ como un actor político legítimo, abriendo camino a la Ley de Identidad de Género de 2012 y el reconocimiento del Género No Binario en el DNI.
