About this listen

Lektrique is a 30-year old music producer who honed his craft in Montreal with the Kannibalen Records crew for 5 years before moving back to his native Brussels. Lektrique has a unique style of dance music combining classical melodies with inventive sound design. Lektrique is also the host of the Kannibalen Radio Podcast, a bi-weekly mix series with a loyal following. Lektrique regularly premieres unreleased tracks by well-known and undiscovered electronic music producers. Lektrique has gained a reputation as both an excellent producer and a tastemaker with an ear for ground-breaking original sounds. In 2016, the producer has teamed up with Black Tiger Sex Machine for the iconic “Armada.” The song, featured on BTSM’s debut album, is another collaboration with his Kannibalen brethren after 2015’s standout “Religion.” Lektrique’s “Dark Matter” single combines dubstep, classical music and breakbeat for a sound that few can match. Fresh off the release of his new EP Break Your Skull, Lektrique has created a sound that’s just what electro needs in 2017: innovative, enduring and heavy.

In this episode, Lektrique talks about growing up in Belgium, skateboarding, techno, school, dating and marriage, learning French and various languages, work permits, vaporwave and synthwave, his music in an Oculus game Pistol Whip, Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, Berlin, upcoming projects - Masterclass and 1 on 1s,
