The two of them — both country girls at heart, muddling through the palace formalities together — have always had the sort of friendship that makes even us commoners swoon. Who could forget Sophie falling onto Kate in a carriage at Royal Ascot, the pair dissolving into giggles? And Duchess Sophie was there, with a comforting arm around Kate, when she bravely rejoined public life after chemotherapy.

Yes, in a home big enough to host a royal ball, the Waleses will still be making their own tea bags and picking up after the children. Well…within reason!
