About this listen

Joe Park is a PGA Golf Professional, an author and a Master Golf Instructor. Based in Scottsdale, AZ, Joe has been teaching golf for over 30 years and developed his methodology and philosophy by way of research, teaching golfers of all skill levels, lessons from Mike Bender, and insights from Homer Kelley and the MORAD System.

Joe joins #OntheMark to share his philosophy on the golf-swing and illustrate how you can improve your overall swing action by respecting and applying five fundamentals:

  1. Grip - What is the proper grip and how does it function to control the clubface.
  2. Stance and Posture - How to set up correctly, what to look for, and a drill to nail your setup every time.
  3. Takeaway and Backswing - The three types of backswing shapes, how the arms and body operate in concert with each other, width, torque and the action of the trail arm, and a drill to get the backswing moving properly.
  4. Transition and Downswing - Reconciling the "down and out path" of the downswing, speed ratios and sweetspot guarantees, and why golfers "come over the top."
  5. Impact and the Follow-through - Clubface control and Ball-flight Laws, and finishing in balance.

This podcast is also available as a vodcast on YouTube. Search and subscribe to Mark Immelman to watch and see Joe illustrate a number of drills and concepts for developing your golfswing.
