  • Episode 30: "Peter Hiett (Part 2 of 2) - Love Wins. No, like... Really Wins!"
    Jul 24 2025

Hey friends, welcome back to Jesus the Legend. I’m really excited about today’s guest—Peter Hiett.

I first came across Peter years ago through a YouTube video called Hallelujah in Hell. At the time, I wasn’t sure what to make of it—creepy music, chalkboards, dark rooms, Arielle singing, and some seriously strange (but intriguing) theology. Still, it stuck with me.

Later on, I heard him on David Artman’s podcast and realized—wait, that’s the same guy! Since then, I’ve really enjoyed his teaching.

Peter is the son of a Presbyterian pastor and went from studying geology to earning his M.Div. at Fuller Seminary. He’s written several books, has tons of teaching online and he’s been pastoring The Sanctuary in Denver since 2008. He’s been ordained by multiple branches of the Presbyterian Church, and he and his high school sweetheart, Susan, have been married since 1983. They’ve got four kids—whom Peter says he likes most of the time.

I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to chat with him today and I’m sure you will love it.
