NBA lottery luck was not on the side of the Utah Jazz on Monday evening, but now the question becomes, what do the Jazz do with this 5th pick? Considering the Jazz now have 5th pick rather than something higher, there is no certainty at this point as to what the franchise will do with the pick. In order to maximize the value of this pick, Jazz must be looking at all options. Trading down and acquiring additional assets must be on the table. Jazz must field all those calls and hopefully another team makes an offer that places the Jazz in a better position moving forward.

Until the Utah Jazz franchise obtains a pick that has the potential to become a top 10 NBA player, the focus needs to be on draft position and multiple picks.

Utah Jazz traveled to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves in this Sunday afternoon game, the final game of the season. Jazz players played a competitive first half but Minnesota pulled away down the stretch to give the Jazz the loss. With the loss, the Jazz now have the number one position heading into the NBA lottery next month.

Brice Sensabaugh once again led the Jazz in scoring with 22 points on 7-17 from the field and 6-12 from the three point line.

Kyle Filipowski and Brice Sensabaugh shot the ball very well against the Portland Trail Blazers at home in the Delta Center. This was a game the Jazz expected to lose considering the ongoing fight for the number one position going into the NBA lottery is still up for grabs. But players for both teams played hard and the Jazz came away with the win in overtime.

Kyle Filipowski, the Jazz rookie forward from Duke, had a career night with 30 points and 18 rebounds. Kyle shot 13-17 from the field and also had 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block.

Brice Sensabaugh shot 7-12 from the field for 22 points, 6-10 on 3s, and also added 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Final score in overtime, Utah Jazz 133, Portland Trail Blazers 126.

Utah Jazz stayed competitive in a road game in Atlanta against the Hawks. Jazz roster all shot the ball well and it was particularly hot shooting for both Keyonte George and Collin Sexton of the Utah Jazz. The two Jazz guards combined to score 62 points on 19-35 shooting from the field.

Atlanta ultimately won the game by shooting 57% from the field but for the Utah Jazz, this late in the season, with the NBA's worst record, keeping the game this competitive throughout is a big plus for the team.

Collin Sexton sizzled against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis Friday night. Sexton scored 27 points on 8-14 from the field and also recorded 3 assists and only 1 turnover. Collin played a great game and showed his ability to score from multiple levels.

Indiana Pacers pulled away in the fourth quarter and won the game handily but this was a very competitive game through three quarters with the Jazz leading most of the way. Indiana blocked 17 Utah Jazz shot attempts which is an absolutely huge number of blocked shots.

With a Washington Wizards win tonight, the Utah Jazz franchise now has the number one NBA lottery position with five games remaining. If the Jazz lose out, they will end the season with fewer wins than any other team and head into the lottery with the number one position. This has been a long year and the Jazz really needs some good fortune at this point and the ping pong balls need to bounce in a positive direction for the franchise. The team has done what it needs to do to put itself in the best position possible with only five games remaining in the season. Just need to close it out and hope for the best.

Utah Jazz go to Charlotte and play a competitive game against the Hornets. Brice Sensabaugh has been shooting the ball really well from the three point line recently. Over his past 10 games, Brice has made 60% of his three point attempts. That is a terrific number by the second year Utah Jazz player.

Charlotte did win this competitively played games but the score was reasonably close throughout the game. Final score Charlotte Hornets 110 and Utah Jazz 106.

Utah Jazz played in Salt Lake City against the Memphis Grizzlies and came out shooting the ball extremely well from the three point line to start the game. With the hot shooting start, Jazz built a comfortable lead in the first quarter. Game was close at half-time with the Jazz up by one. But the second half was a different story and the game ended with the Jazz falling by 37. Final score 140 -103.
