About this listen

Join ADHDer, Dr Mine Conkbayir MBE and husband, the BAFTA award-winning comedy actor, Paul Whitehouse (Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, The Fast Show) as they explore ADHD with diverse celebrity ADHDer guests, professors and specialists in this brand new Podcast series. Given the recent 'explosion’ in diagnoses, particularly within the world of comedy, Paul Whitehouse represents the archetypal sceptic. He’s there to challenge the very concept of ADHD. Dr. Mine provides theoretical and research insights, counter arguments and her own lived experience, creating a conversational and highly accessible space to explore this much misunderstood topic. Each episode they’ll chat to a guest who’ll share their experience of ADHD, whether from the point of view of being diagnosed themselves, as a parent or a specialist in the field. Fellow ADHDer guests include Rory Bremner, Denise Welch, Gemma Styles, Dr Alex George, Shaparak Khorshandi, Shaun Ryder and many more. Content warning: This episode contains themes that some listeners might find upsetting. In this week's episode, Mine and Paul welcome the brilliant comedian, writer, and actor Sara Pascoe. With her trademark wit and warmth, she explores how comedy offers both refuge and revelation for neurodivergent minds - a place where impulsivity, overthinking, and dopamine-chasing can be channelled into storytelling, humour, and human connection rather than self-criticism.
