"Lo Stato palestinese viene cancellato dal tavolo non con slogan, ma con i fatti", ha dichiarato ieri con soddisfazione il ministro delle finanze israeliano Bezalel Smotrich. Il fatto in questione è il piano che prevede 3400 nuove abitazioni per i coloni in Cisgiordania, un modo per spezzare in due quel territorio e allontanare l'ipotesi due popoli due Stati che è sembrata a lungo l'unica possibilità di convivenza tra israeliani e palestinesi. Ma l'ultradestra al governo nello stato ebraico sta facendo di tutto per minare quella prospettiva: ognuna di quelle nuove abitazioni, ha detto con macabro compiacimento Smotrich, rappresenta "un chiodo sulla bara" dello stato palestinese.
