 A metà del Trecento, gli Scaligeri costruirono un’imponente muraglia che collegava Borghetto, il castello di Valeggio e quello di Villafranca e che doveva arrivare fino alla Rocca di Nogarole. Un bastione difensivo di centocinquanta torri, lungo il corso del Tione dei Monti e delle Valli, a prolungare le difese naturali del Garda, del Mincio e delle paludi di Grazzano. Alessandro Anderloni cammina sulle tracce delle antiche e scomparse mura del Serraglio Scaligero.
