Alexandre Castro Cambraia tem história de superação ao preservar fazenda cafeeira. Há vinte anos, ele trocou a carreira no ramo de negócios imobiliários em Belo Horizonte pelo cultivo de café, na Fazenda Mundo Novo, em São Francisco de Paula, região do Campo das Vertentes. De acordo com ele, a mudança foi motivada por questões financeiras. A fazenda administrada na época, pelo pai dele, não estava dando lucro, e seria vendida. Foi então que Alexandre resolveu continuar o legado da famiília.
A venda de madeira de eucalipto permitiu ao cafeicultor pagar algumas dívidas e também investir na recuperação das lavouras, que estavam degradadas pela falta de manutenção. Alexandre conta como foi o começo difícil.
