I bet you're intrigued by this week's title called “I Should Be Dead - Now What?” Well, right now I literally should be dead. You see, one week ago today, I crashed my 2016 Harley Davidson Softail Slim motorcycle into the ditch off Highway 78. I was not wearing a helmet. It’s a story everyone warned me would happen. Well it happened and I should be dead, but instead I’m here to tell you the story, and what I learned from this deadly experience.

Let me just say, God is SO good! After getting several scans and x-rays I was told I had 3 fractured ribs, a fractured C-2 vertebrae in my neck (otherwise known as the hangman's fracture) and a partially collapsed lung. They said I should be dead. The C-2 fracture is known as the hangman's fracture because it occurs when your head is forcefully snapped back and up. This is a hyperextension injury, meaning that my neck was extended beyond its normal range of motion, likened to a judicial hanging. So I am very blessed to be able to be here recording another podcast. So much so that I can’t help but ask “Now what?” I mean this was such a miraculous event I just lived through, that I can’t help but ask God, “Now what can I do for You since I’ve been given another chance to live?” I believe His simple response is “Live into and be who I created you to be.” In other words, if I didn’t worry about time, money or relationships who would I be? And if I used all the resources available to me, how could I impact the world around me?

Here are three answers to the question “Now What?”

Answer 1 - Love God I will love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind.

Answer 2 - Love Myself Jesus suggests that I should love myself so I will love myself.

Answer 3 - Love My Neighbor I will love my neighbor as myself".

Jesus says that this triple commandment is God's greatest revelation of how I should act, and that everything else hangs upon it. So the way I look at it, is I’ve been given a second chance, a do over or a mulligan. This is the way Jesus taught me to impact the world. To first love God with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind. To love myself with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind. And it is only after graciously doing these two things can I then love you as I love myself.

Well I hope you enjoyed this episode on “I should be dead. Now what?” I couldn’t be more on fire for Jesus than I am right now. He is the only Way. He is the absolute Truth. He is the Light in the darkness. There is so much I want you to know. I want you to know how deep and how wide and and how tall is the love of God for you. I know because even though we are all sinners, He sent His only Son Jesus to pay the ransom for our sins by dying on a cross so we can live forever with Him in eternal life, if only we believe. Now that is some radical love that I want to keep spreading. I’m here to tell you:

You are loved.

You are worthy.

You are cherished.

You are appreciated.

You are respected.

You are special.

You are unique.

You are one-of-a-kind.

You are made on purpose.

You are made to love.

You are made to be loved.

You are love.

You equal love.

Be loved.

Beloved.

Once you truly understand this, discovering a life of meaning, purpose and fulfillment will come from the inside out. The love, the knowing, the acceptance, the being, just being you is the key to creating an impact. There is no other you. Go 100% all in. Be the beautiful you God created you to be. God is counting on you!
