  • I Love Mann - Juan Christian
    Jun 23 2025

Welcome to the I Love Mann podcast - celebrating all we love about the Island.

In each episode we hear someone talk about their connection to this jewel in the Irish Sea - be they natives, come-overs or stop-overs.

Here we talk to Juan Christian, who was nominated by previous guest Graham Hall.

Juan is, as we'll hear, as Manx as they come and he's done the research to prove it.

He hasn't always lived over there though; he spent a number of years living away. But as happens with so many of us, the pull to return was strong and came at just the right time.

This is a joyously optimistic discussion about what it means to be Manx and why we shouldn't worry about a bit of negativity on social media.

Juan also talks about his work with the charities Isle Listen and Mooinjer Veggey.

If you would like to try learning a little Manx, you can get in touch with Juan by emailing projects@mooinjerveggey.org.im and by the end of this episode...you will know how to say 'testicle hill,' a phrase you didn't even know you needed.

  • I Love Mann - Charles Guard
    Jun 18 2025

Welcome to I Love Mann, a podcast dedicated to the stories, spirit and soul of Ellan Vannin.

The aim is simple. To explore what makes this Island so special, not just to those who live here, but to anyone who’s ever fallen under its spell.

Each episode features voices from across the Island, people who know it, love it, and want to share what makes it unlike anywhere else.

This isn’t just about a place on the map, I Love Mann is about a feeling, a connection, a way of living.

In this episode we join Charles Guard who helps us celebrate the Isle of Man in all its beauty, depth, and heart.

Charles has been instrumental in promoting the Island through a career in journalism and later as a writer and film producer.

He's also known as someone who gets things done - and is using that strength to the benefit of the Island and its people.
