About this listen

It’s the last F1 race before the three-week summer break, and we’re at the Hungarian Grand Prix! The Formula 1 weekend kicked off with an exciting qualifying session on Saturday, where, against the odds, Charles Leclerc snatched pole position in the Ferrari, outpacing both McLarens.

But things quickly turned sour on Sunday. Lando Norris took control of the race and battled teammate Oscar Piastri all the way to the final lap before securing the win. Leclerc slipped down to P4 as Ferrari’s persistent issues resurfaced. His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, also had a tough weekend, finishing in P12 and even suggesting in the F1 post-race interviews that it might be time for a driver change.

We break down all the weekend’s top performances, including George Russell’s strong P3 finish and standout drives from the Aston Martin duo and Kick Sauber rookie Gabriel Bortoleto.

With only 10 races left this season, the summer break offers a much-needed reset for the grid, but the Grand Pricks podcast isn’t going anywhere. We’ll be back next week, kicking off our mid-season check-in, which includes Reem’s F1 Mid-Year exam... wish her luck!
