Esta semana Dodekachordon rinde homenaje al gran director belga Philippe Herreweghe en su 78° aniversario, figura esencial del historicismo musical. Formado como médico y pianista, fundó en 1970 el Collegium Vocale Gent, con el que trabajó junto a Harnoncourt y Leonhardt en la grabación integral de las cantatas de Bach. Luego creó La Chapelle Royale y otros ensambles dedicados al repertorio renacentista, barroco y clásico-romántico, siempre con instrumentos originales y rigor estilístico. Referente indiscutible en la música de Bach, su enfoque sobrio, preciso y profundamente expresivo ha influido a generaciones de intérpretes.
