About this listen

Take a deep dive into the 2015 Gorkha earthquake in Nepal, where 8,962 people were killed and 21,952 people were injured across Nepal, India, China, and Bangladesh.

Co-hosts Dovie Maisel and Elad Bachar are once again joined by Professor Kobi Peleg, a world-renowned expert on disaster management, to discuss the joint Israeli response team as well as the international aid response to the disaster. They describe what it was like to land in Kathmandu, establish search and rescue teams and provide medical care in makeshift clinics in various devastated mountain villages, and Kobi's role as UNDAC and OCHA manager, coordinating each mission with the Nepalese government and saving hundreds of lives.
