About this listen

In this episode, Caroline and Jack bring you the closing arguments from the defence and prosecution before the jury retire to consider their verdicts. Prosecutor Richard Thyne KC said the defendant did not suffer from a loss of self-control when he stabbed Harvey Willgoose, but displayed purposeful and controlled aggression as an act of retribution. Gul Nawaz Hussain KC, for the defence, said the evidence clearly showed the defendant was in intense fear in the weeks leading up to the attack - and Harvey was simply the final straw that broke him.
