About this listen
On August 24, near Duarte Drive and Manzanita Street, the Henderson Police Department initiated a search for 93-year-old Leonor Martel, who is classified as missing and endangered due to her age and weather conditions. She was last seen around 9:28 a.m., and officials are actively seeking the public’s assistance. Martel is described as 5’2”, 100 pounds, with black eyes and blonde hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact Henderson Police at 702-267-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555, as the case remains under investigation, and her safe return is a top priority according to KTNV.
Throughout the week, Henderson Police responded to several patrol checks and suspicious activity across a range of locations including several residential and commercial areas. These included disturbance calls and suspicious circumstances in the Pittman and Green Valley areas, as well as near intersections along Sunset Road and Green Valley Parkway. Most cases remain routine and are monitored or under standard investigation, with no ongoing requests for public involvement at this time.
Nearby, police were alerted to a vandalism report in a commercial zone on Harris Street. This alleged property damage incident remains under investigation, and police have not announced any suspects or made arrests. Similarly, law enforcement received multiple reports of petty theft in retail and shopping district locations, particularly near Sunset Station and the Galleria at Sunset; all these cases are currently under investigation.
In downtown’s Water Street District, a traffic-related incident—classified as a reckless driving report—was logged on August 22. Officers responded and documented the incident; no injuries or arrests have been reported and the incident is still being reviewed.
Henderson Police also conducted several welfare checks in West Henderson, responding to requests for officer presence or citizen assistance. No criminal activity was found in these cases, and they were closed without further incident.
For the week reviewed, there were no reported homicides, major assaults, or large-scale narcotics operations noted in police activity summaries. Henderson Police have not issued suspect descriptions for public assistance regarding other incidents, and there are no open requests for community help outside the missing person case.
Current trends indicate a steady volume of routine property and disturbance calls, with patrol deployments consistent across residential and commercial areas. The department continues to urge vigilance for suspicious activity as well as public assistance only in active investigations when specifically requested.
Anyone with information about any criminal activity is encouraged to call Henderson Police at 702-267-5000 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
