About this listen

Heart of Care

Heart of Care is a storytelling and conversation podcast that explores the realities behind Australia’s health, welfare, and social systems — from the eyes of those living and working within them.

Hosted by John from AMCU Media, this podcast shares heartfelt stories, policy insights, and personal reflections on what it truly means to care — as a professional, a parent, a patient, or a citizen.

From overworked families to underfunded clinics, delayed mental health support to the dignity lost in welfare queues — each episode asks the hard questions and seeks real answers.

Because behind every statistic is a human story. And it’s time we listened.

Thank you for your support!

At Heart of Care, we aim to deliver a new episode every month. As we’re a small, independent team, there may occasionally be delays — and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Your encouragement keeps us going.

🎙️ Heart of Care | Special Advocacy Episode
    Title: No Child Deserves Bombing

On May 12, 2025, the Myanmar military bombed a school in Oe Htein Kwin Village, Depayin Township.
22 innocent lives were lost — most of them children.

In this powerful episode of Heart of Care, we refuse to look away.
We speak for those who can no longer speak.
We grieve. We rage. We advocate.

🎧 Hosted by: John & Laura

📖 Featuring reflections from Dr. Evan Hope, author of The Doctor For Life

    🔊 In this episode:

The tragedy of Depayin and the countless others that go unreported

The weaponization of fear against children and communities

The complicity of silence — and why international voices must rise

What it means to care when care is dangerous

💡 Because no school should become a war zone. And no child deserves to die in silence.

    Description:

In this powerful second episode of White Coats, Red Lines, we speak with Dr. Min — a Burmese doctor who became a target of the military regime for choosing ethics over obedience. After joining the Civil Disobedience Movement in the wake of Myanmar’s 2021 coup, Dr. Min was charged under Law 505A, had his medical license revoked, his passport seized, and his academic records blocked from international verification. Now living stateless near the Thai border, he continues to heal others in exile with nothing but a stethoscope and his unwavering oath.

We explore the junta’s use of bureaucratic violence — from license stripping to academic sabotage — and hear firsthand the emotional toll of being cut off from family, career, and country. Dr. Min’s story is one of resilience, resistance, and a call to the global medical community to act in solidarity.
