Em cima desse tema e novamente junto aos “High Flying Birds”, Noel lançou “Chasing Yesterday”, um disco que manda um recado direto e reto para quem o escuta desde 2015: “Esqueçam o ontem! Eu estou aqui hoje e sou foda!”.
O álbum caiu no gosto dos fãs e críticas. As faixas trazem reflexões sobre a importância de esquecer o passado e olhar para frente – o que não é novidade nas composições de Gallagher, já que escutamos essa temática desde a época de “Dont Look Back in Anger”.
A criatividade do Chef estava no auge com músicas que apresentam estilos, harmonias e influencias jamais (ou pouco) utilizadas antes. A experimentação desse disco se afastou do Oasis e do primeiro trabalho solo de Noel, porém sem os exageros – e até a pretensão – de alguns trabalhos futuros do guitarrista.
