About this listen

Namaste and welcome back to Gita in 700 — your verse-by-verse journey through the Bhagavad Gita, blending timeless wisdom with deep emotional commentary.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Verses 1.4 to 1.6 — Duryodhana’s growing anxiety as he surveys the mighty Pandava army.

  • Introduction of each heroic warrior: Bhima, Arjuna, Yuyudhana, Virata, Drupada, Dhrishtaketu, Chekitana, Kashiraj, Purujit, Kuntibhoja, Shaibya, Yudhamanyu, Uttamaujas, Abhimanyu, and the sons of Draupadi.

  • How fear can dress itself as strategy, and how ego begins to tremble before the truth.

Translation:

Here, O Teacher, are heroes and mighty bowmen equal to Bhima and Arjuna in battle: Yuyudhana, Virata, and the great warrior Drupada. Dhrishtaketu, Chekitana, the brave King of Kashi, Purujit, Kuntibhoja, and Shaibya — the best among men. Yudhamanyu the powerful, Uttamaujas the brave, Abhimanyu the son of Subhadra, and the sons of Draupadi — all great chariot warriors, maharathis.

Summary:

✨ Each verse uncovers a deeper truth about fear, courage, ego, and destiny — as seen through Duryodhana’s trembling heart.
