About this listen

Tishaura Jones was the first Black woman to serve as mayor of St. Louis City. She lost reelection last spring to Cara Spencer. She and her father, Virvus Jones, a former comptroller and alderman, joined Carol Daniel to reflect on her time in office.

-

In this special three-part series, Carol sits down with three outgoing St. Louis City officials: former Mayor Tishaura Jones (accompanied by her father Virvus Jones, a former St. Louis City Comptroller and alderman), former Director of Health Dr. Mati Hlatshwayo Davis, and former St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) President & CEO Neil Richardson. In these candid conversations, Jones, Richardson, and Davis talk about their time in office, the challenges they faced, and what’s next for them and their careers.
