The 2025 College Football season starts in just a few weeks! With the calendar now fully turned to August, Football Weather is looking at the college football landscape with an eye to which teams have a legitimate shot at making the 2025 edition of the College Football Playoff. We start with the Southeastern Conference, a league which tried and failed to promote several three-loss teams as legitimate playoff contenders last years. While Alabama, South Carolina, and Ole Miss all missed out on the 2024 Playoff, they were right in the middle of the conversation. How does the conference stack up this year? We go through all the schedules and matchups, and try to figure out how programs like Texas, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and Florida might fit into the playoff debate this season.

On this edition of Football Weather, Matt and Galen dive into the aftermath of the Big Ten's Football Media Days. We discuss the "SEC Scheduling Principles" discussed by Tony Petitti and several Big Ten coaches, the need for consistent scheduling across the top levels of college football, and how the Big Ten's messaging needs to be stronger on this front. We also talk about the news that North Carolina is interested in a move to the SEC, what that news means for the Big Ten, and how realignment in college football is clearly nowhere close to being over.

Matt and GC are back with the second episode of Football Weather. With the games still several weeks away, we focus on the changes related to college sports (and particularly college football).
