ആകെക്കൂടി ആ ഗ്രാമം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയ ലിവ്സണിനു ആകെ അറിയേണ്ടുന്ന കാര്യം ചുറ്റുവട്ടത്തുള്ള കാടുകളിൽ ആവശ്യത്തിന് മൃഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടോ എന്നായിരുന്നു. കാട്ടുപോത്തുകളും, കടുവകളും, കരടികളും, പുലികളും, മാനുകളും നിറഞ്ഞ കാടുകളായിരുന്നു അവിടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ലിവ്സണിന്റെ വിവരണങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും അക്കാലത്തെ ഇന്ത്യൻ കാടുകളിലെ മൃഗവൈവിധ്യം നമുക്ക് മനസിലാക്കുവാൻ സാധിക്കും. നായാട്ടിന് പോകുമ്പോൾ ഈ കാടുകൾ പരിചയമുള്ള നാട്ടുകാരായ രണ്ട് വേട്ടക്കാരേക്കൂടി താൻ നൽകാമെന്നും ഗ്രാമത്തലവൻ അവരെ അറിയിച്ചു. കിസ്റ്റിമ, വീരപ്പ ഇതായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ പേരുകൾ. ഇത്രയും കേട്ടതോടെ അവിടെ കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങൾ തങ്ങുവാൻ തന്നെ ലിവ്സൺ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. പടയണി വാദ്യമായ തപ്പ് നിര്‍മാണത്തിന്റെ കൗതുകക്കാഴ്ച കാണാം!
