About this listen

--Welcome back to Life in San Frandisco! Thank you for tuning in~

I'm feelin like a #brandnewbitch this week! I went camping and came back with a septum piercing hahaha my 7th grade emo self is uwuuuu-ing :3 !! Then came Monday I #quitmyjob hahaha -- partly because I was so inspired from my conversation with this week's guest!

Also I had a lot of alone time... went to the beach & got some good ole' vitamin D... did lots of writing and reflecting... & came to the realization that I was crying all the time because I was... dun-da-da-dun... LONELY!! talk about #WhitePrivilege-- am I right?? like girl stfu with yo lonely ass...

ANYWAYS!!

This week's guest... is a skater, musician, journalist, radio host, filmmaker, stand-up comic.... Felipe Gouveia!! Ooh-wee he really does it all! Did I spell that last name right?

We talk about his skating career that started with his mom trying to get him a hobby, getting sued for $7,000 because all your old roomies didn't pay rent, how he got into TV & FIlm production through a very underpaid PA gig, going to school for journalism-- inspired by Dig! (the documentary)--- until dropping out when he got #sponsed by Supra! Ahh so much!!

We discuss all his creative endeavors--- music, finding a band (attempting to), stand-up comedy, filmmaking, WRITING OBSESSIVELY.... and going into a #depression after getting fired from a dream job-- with a dream team--- but how it has also fueled him to do his own projects.

My fav highlights from the convo...

- Learning his creative process

- Touching his first boob

- Sleeping through his alarm when someone goes & shoots up yo school

- The story of BRIAN! who Felipe wrote a song about that I was so lucky to see live

- Skaters living in their cars... upcoming docuseries... #StayTuned

- And... the meth-head TIPPED his Uber driver!!

The songs he recommended & that got him through life:

- Servo by The Brian Jonestown Massacre

- Things Fall Apart by Built to Spill
