• Meet Ironheart: Marvel's Youngest Genius?
    Jun 3 2025

Since the Ironheart series is dropping later this month (June 2025), we’re revisiting our 2022 review of some of Marvel’s newest generation of heroes—including Riri Williams (Ironheart), Nova, Amadeus Cho, and the Champions.

It’s a great refresher on where these characters came from, what makes them tick, and how Marvel’s been building a younger, more dynamic lineup of heroes over the past decade.

Keith also makes an astute connection between the number of Marvel characters attending MIT — like Ironheart, Spider-Man, and others — and the university’s real-life reputation for innovation. It’s a fun lens on how Marvel blends science and storytelling.

Whether you're new to these characters or just need a quick catch-up before Ironheart hits Disney+, this one’s worth a listen.

  • THUNDERBOLTS* Spoiler Review
    May 11 2025

We unpack Marvel’s Thunderbolts—a story that’s less about saving the world and more about saving yourself. The film opens with questions around mental health and identity, and it quickly evolves into something bigger than just a team-up movie. This is a story about broken people figuring out who they are, what they’ve done, and whether or not they’re still worth saving.

We break down how the team comes together, what drives them apart, and why this version of the Thunderbolts isn’t the one you might expect. There’s action (yes, the car chase and the motorcycle moment are awesome), but what hits hardest are the emotional beats—especially between Yelena and Alexi. We also get a major new character who seriously shifts the power scale of the MCU, and we dive into what that means going forward.

Of course, we share our thoughts on the ending, the twist with Valentina, and where this team stands after the dust settles. And don’t worry—we cover the mid and post-credit scenes too (because that last tease? Yeah… we see it coming, but still lose our minds).

This is one of Marvel’s most layered stories in a while, and we’re all in.

  • Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episodes 1-2 Spoiler Review | Full Breakdown & Key Moments
    Dec 9 2024

A New Kind of Star Wars Adventure

Skeleton Crew stands out by shifting the spotlight to a group of kids caught in a galaxy that's both dangerous and chaotic. Set after the fall of the Empire, the galaxy is still reeling, and lawlessness abounds. For our young heroes, it's the worst possible time to get lost in hyperspace—and that’s exactly what makes it so thrilling.

    Characters That Shine

The heart of the show lies in its cast. The kids are vibrant, relatable, and perfectly cast. Each character feels distinct, with their own strengths, quirks, and backstories. Wim, played by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, brings an endearing curiosity as a dreamer obsessed with Jedi lore. Neel, his clever best friend, adds brains to the group, while Fern, the tough-as-nails rebel, injects energy and grit. Kyrianna Kratter’s KD is the tech genius holding it all together.

The chemistry among the young actors is fantastic, and their personalities shine through in every scene. Jude Law’s character is equally intriguing, balancing mystery and authority without overshadowing the young leads.

    The Story: Adventure Meets Mystery

Episodes 1 and 2 set up an incredible adventure. The kids make a life-changing discovery, turning what could’ve been an ordinary day into a journey that takes them far from home. It’s not just about being lost—it’s about surviving in a galaxy full of pirates, danger, and secrets.

There’s a sense of wonder and excitement, but the stakes feel very real. The galaxy isn’t a playground; it’s unpredictable and perilous, especially for kids with no idea what they’ve gotten into.

A Perfect Blend of Humor, Heart, and Thrills

The show has a lot of fun moments—whether it’s a droid with a quirky personality or the kids’ banter—but it never loses sight of the high stakes. The storytelling feels grounded, emotional, and true to the Star Wars legacy.

    Visuals and Lore

From stunning starships to bustling spaceports, the visuals are top-notch. Fans of Star Wars lore will love the subtle nods to the High Republic and the galaxy’s tumultuous state post-Empire. The practical effects and creature designs are a treat, pulling you deeper into this richly imagined world.

    Why You’ll Love It

Episodes 1 and 2 capture the spirit of Star Wars—hope, adventure, and the thrill of the unknown—while offering a fresh perspective. It’s like The Goonies meets The Mandalorian, delivering a story that’s both exciting and deeply emotional.

If you’re looking for something that feels new but still very Star Wars, Skeleton Crew is off to a fantastic start.
