Se hizo lector gracias a los libros que quedaron de su bisabuelo, un vendedor de libros que hacía su negocio en el tren hacia Tucumán. En la secundaria, escribía por obligación y comenzó a destacarse, pero también tocó el piano en distintas obras teatrales de la ciudad. Viajó por todas partes tocando jazz en Berlín, París, Ecuador.
Con Martín Prieto, Oscar Taborda y Richi Guiamet armaron la hoja mensual de poesía y terminó escribiendo contratapas en Página 12.
