About this listen
One of the biggest sources of shame and worry for ADHDers can be work. Getting it, keeping it, struggling with it, sticking with it, losing it, changing it, not having it, and all the shame that comes with not understanding why it's so problematic when you don't have an ADHD diagnosis (or even when you do). In this episode, I talk candidly about my own *colourful* work history, the *unique* ways I have lost some jobs and the *fairly bad* shame this has caused me by not realising that ADHD was behind it all. I also look at the unique expectations about work placed upon Gen Xers as young people and the very specific burdens this has caused those of us with ADHD (perhaps all of us to some extent). However, I do end with my hopes for my future, thinking about how we need to drop old-fashioned ideas of what work and working are.
As always, contains a lot of swearing...
