Beth Smith is a local mom of two boys, President of the Washoe County School Board and trustee representing District D, and gaming industry professional. Beth began her service as a trustee in 2021 through a public appointment process and has since won two elections to keep the seat. She is passionate about protecting and advancing public education for the benefit of our children and the future of our community and country. Beth Smith’s professional history outside of public service includes more than 20 years in the gaming industry spanning marketing, communications, policy, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Raised in Connecticut, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire, majoring in Communication and double minoring in Business Administration and Political Science. Beth lives by the philosophy that change is a series of small adjustments made over time. Washoe County has been her chosen home for 23 years.
