About this listen

Caius and Marquis Gaylord (Cleveland; he/him) revisit Marquis’ transsexual folk punk horror number, which he first premiered at Manor of the Macabre and continued to develop at The Odditorium. They talk costuming must-haves, channeling autism into drag, transmasculine childhood, and the political power of reclaiming a narrative.

Content warnings: detailed discussions of genre-typical violence in horror media, simulated gore, gender dysphoria, transphobia, and anti-trans legislation. References to anti-trans violence, anti-Black racism, and misogyny. One use of the t-slur.

Special thanks to Bram Stroke-her, Comatose, Dean Heartthrob, and Ronnie Wrath!

Did you love it? Did you hate it? Do you want to give a drag king a piece of your mind?
