As a woman of colour, an immigrant in the US who took to the spiritual life of service, I can testify to the deep wounds of racism, and other untoward expereinces that have shaped my life, impacted my wellbeing and forged my overall spiritual fortress. I speak from the platform of my most precious human asset- our humanity. I believe most of us would concur that hatred, racism, and offensive behaviour offer no solution to our human problems. In truth, prejudice of any kind can only escerbate the present crises, chaos and confusion. Hatred, and violent response is never the humane answer. Even when we are reacting to inhumane and odious behaviour, we must keep the peace, we must work diligently to maintain our inner balance.
