About this listen
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
ECCLESIASTES 9:10
DEVOTION
Based on Ecclesiastes 9
This verse is a powerful reminder to live with urgency and purpose. We are given one life—this side of eternity—to serve God and others. There will be no second chances to fulfill our purpose after death. So while we breathe, we should give our best.
This doesn’t mean overworking, but rather putting our full heart into whatever we do, whether mundane or grand. Your diligence honors God. So today, whether you're cleaning, leading, or helping someone in need, do it with all your might, knowing time is a gift and your efforts glorify Him.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Lord, You are the Giver of time and purpose. You fill each moment with opportunity.
CONFESSION: I sometimes live passively, wasting hours on distractions or avoiding responsibility.
THANKSGIVING: Thank You for reminding me that every task—big or small—matters to You. Thank You for entrusting me with time and talent.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me to approach my day with holy focus. Give me the strength to work with passion, not for applause, but for Your glory. When I feel weary, I renew my resolve. May I live in a way that reflects the urgency of eternity and the beauty of Your purpose for me.
PRAYER
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
ECCLESIASTES 9:10
Dear Heavenly Father, Resisting temptation and selfiish desires is not easy. There are plenty of things trying to capture my attention and hinder my obedience. But Your word promises that the more I resist, the more these things flee. The way to resist the devil is to resist the devil. That takes fortitude in the beginning, and holy habits to keep me grounded. Foster these things in me and give me peace when it grows tiring. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
