About this listen
Welcome to The Hip Replacement Podcast – a show by a hip replacement patient FOR hip replacement patients, their families and friends.
In this Episode, I shared some alternatives for sleep after a hip replacement.
First night was in a hospital bed which was inclined.
Recliners may be easier to get down to and up from than a bed.
A large wedge-shaped pillow can be used to create an incline once in a bed.
After several months of sleeping on my back, I was able to sleep on my stomach.
A firmer mattress may help prevent hips from sinking.
Change positions to find what’s comfortable and does not result in stiffness in the morning.
Sleeping on your stomach helps to stretch the muscles in the front of legs and hips.
