 In the midst of a war, football provides Ukranians an escape from reality. Despite difficulties, the domestic league is back underway and the national team is fighting for a spot at the 2026 World Cup. For those with Ukranian ancestry abroad, unable to make any physical contribution on the front line, football provides a sense of solidarity with their homeland. In this episode, we chat to Mikel Jaworskyj, Bradford born second generation Ukranian man who is going to great lengths to support the country of his heritage on the road around Europe. Whilst for Mikel this may be a passion project, his efforts are having a much deeper effect on the Ukranian people as they search for hope.
