Bio:

Heather Miller is an experienced educator, nonprofit leader, artist, and children’s book author whose career has centered on helping young people and the adults who care for them thrive.

Heather is the Founder and CEO of the School Care Team, an organization that partners with schools and communities across Indiana to promote youth mental health, academic success, and life readiness. Under her leadership, the School Care Team delivers impactful programs such as Mindset Reset, Youth WRAP, and parent and teacher education workshops — serving districts of all sizes and contexts.

Her work includes extensive experience with children with disabilities through Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) programs. Her longest tenure was as an art specialist at a Montessori school, where she fostered a classroom culture that encouraged innovation, creative exploration, and risk-taking without fear of criticism — a philosophy that continues to shape her work today.

Heather is an artist and children’s book author. She is currently returning to her writing roots, developing several new projects:

• the Mental Health Minute curriculum, designed as an easy-to-use resource for middle school classrooms;

• a forthcoming book for parents titled Parenting with the Mental Health of the Child in Mind; and

• a new book for teachers that explores how to build classroom environments that support educators’ own mental wellbeing, recognizing that healthy teachers create healthy learning spaces.

Heather holds an MBA and is a passionate advocate for strengthening the ecosystems that surround young people — empowering teachers, families, and communities alike.
