About this listen
In this deeply personal episode of As We Are Born, I share my full story for the very first time. A story that has been evolving for 20 years!
2025 marks 20 years since I became a mother, and it's finally time to tell the tale of how I went from “good girl” to fierce, soul-led birthworker.
I take you through the raw, unfiltered truth of my initiation into motherhood: the trauma, the silence, the unravelling, and ultimately the healing. It’s a story of survival, and deep transformation.
From growing up as the “good girl” who tried to keep the peace and avoid shame, to navigating the shock of becoming a new mother through the intensity of my first birth and the crippling descent into postnatal depression, this is the story behind why I now do what I do.
I share:
- What it was like becoming a mother without true preparation
- How the "secret mums club" left me drowning in shame and confusion
- The brutal reality of anxiety, postnatal depression & panic attacks
- The light that emerged from finding sisterhood, support, and myself
This is a story of breaking down and rising up - a sacred transformation that has shaped every part of how I now walk with mothers through their own powerful initiations.
Because as we are born into motherhood, we are also born into ourselves.
