About this listen

Nested within an American history of routine, careless mistreatment of workers and the dispossessed, Kevin and Sarah discuss the chronic health problems faced by the first responders, victims, and survivors of 9/11.

Exposed to dangerous conditions at the crime scene and during disaster cleanup, these volunteers, workers, and people in proximity to contaminated zones contracted illnesses which set in quickly and persist to this day.

Amidst lofty rhetoric about their selfless heroism, city, state, and federal officials conspired to deny causes, declaim responsibility, and smear reputations in the name of CYA.

It is a saga of official stonewalling, legal jockeying, and fury from an indignant public which leads to, but does not end with, the passage of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010.

Please support single-payer. Health care is a human right.

Intro/Outro songs by Rrrrrose Azerty.

Recorded July 19, 2025 in Astoria, Queens.
