About this listen
Episode 12: Slavery, Freedom, and the Gospel Truth
In this episode of The Old Gray Moose: Short Devotions for the Wilderness Journey, we reflect on the painful reality of slavery—both in history and in the present—and the hope we find in Christ who came to set the captives free.
As propaganda and distorted teachings creep into classrooms and public life, it is more important than ever to hold fast to the Gospel truth that all people are created in God’s image and called beloved. Together we pray for our children, our schools, and those entrusted to teach them, asking God to raise up voices of truth and love.
Through Scripture and prayer, we find courage to stand against falsehood and cling to the freedom Christ gives.
Three key takeaways:
The Gospel dismantles lies that devalue human life and proclaims freedom for all.
Parents, grandparents, guardians, and Sunday School teachers are vital bearers of truth to children.
Christ’s love calls us to resist distortion and to live as people of light.
Action Invitation: Pray this week for children, teachers, and mentors—that they may be strengthened to share God’s truth in love.
