Debido a un accidente de tránsito que le provocó una paraplejia permanente quedó en silla de ruedas, lo que no generó ningún impedimento para convertirse en un deportista profesional. Durante unas vacaciones descubrió su pasión por el esquí adaptado y, en el 2022, compitió en los Juegos Paralímpicos de Invierno en Beijing ganando dos diplomas.
